Ultrafox return to Narooma on Wednesday May 15 at The Whale. It will be the bands third visit to Narooma which they are looking forward to very much, with The Whale being one of their favourite rooms to play in on the south coast.
Ultrafox was formed over ten years ago by guitarist Peter Baylor and has built a growing reputation of one of the finest swing bands around, seeking inspiration from the famous ‘manouche swing’ of the Hot club of France featuring Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grapelly of pre-war Paris. Ultrafox’s music is characterised by the muscular, hard driving swing of gypsy style acoustic guitars, laced with lyrical yet fiery soloing. Hot swinging jazz, tender lyrical ballads, French melodies, gypsy waltzes and original compositions make up the band’s extensive repertoire. Ultrafox create an atmosphere of elegant swing and exuberant , dynamic dance tempo jazz.
Joining Peter on their May 2019 tour will be guitarist, Jon Delaney and bassist, Jono Brown. Ultrafox have a new cd out, their third ,” Nocturnal blues “. www.ultrafoxswing.com
